Representatives from the Serbian academic partner institutions (University of Arts in Belgrade, University of Novi Sad and University of Kragujevac) visited partners in the Lithuanian Academy of Music and theatre in Vilnius, Lithania.
This study visit (second out of three, according to the Project plan) is ogranized within the WP 1.2 Preparation and analysis: Study visits to EU HEIs focused on reviewing EU partners’ study programmes dealing with music in digital environments and entrepreneurship.
Representatives of the P1 (University of Arts in Belgrade) were: Prof. Ljiljana Nestorovska, MMus, Dean of the Faculty of Music, Prof. Dr. Ivana Perković, Vice-dean for research and international cooperation and DEMUSIS project coordinator, Associate professor Dragana Jovanović, DMA, Associate professor Milena Stanišić, DMA, Assistant, Dr. Ivana Miladinović-Prica. Representative of the P2 (University of Novi Sad) was Assistant, Dr. Milan Milojković. Representative of the P3 (University of Kragujevac) was Associate profesor Zoran Komadina, MMus, Dean of the Faculty of Philology and Arts.
The purpose of this visit was to explore in the actual circumstances LMTA curricula on music entrepreneurship and music-related digital media, to meet teachers, colleagues and students in person, and to get acquainted with facilities and equipment necessary for the curricular reform at Serbian academic institutions.
On the morning of the first day, Ms. Giedre Atanavičienė, International Relatioship Coordinator welcomed guests from Serbia and was their guide on the tour through the Central building (halls, classrooms, facilities, offices…). Ms. Daiva Mateikienė, Head of the LMTA library presented the Virtual library, databases and service, E-catalogues, LMTA Science publications, E-thesis and Disertation publication systems.
Before the visit to the Music innovation study center (MISC), Rector of the LMTA, prof. Zbignevas Ibelgauptas also welcomed Serbian colleagues. Head of the MISC, Mr. Mantautas Krukauskas introduced the participants with the sound design studio, digital laboratory.
After the presentation of the Moodle system at LMTA by Mr. Roberto Beccera and lively discussion on different possibilities of LIMTA system, Head of LMTA Study programme department, Ms. Natalija Verbickienė spoke about the implementation of the digital and entrepreneurship skills into Study programmes. Gimtarė Palkevičienė, Head of the Career and competences center presented the LMTA activities within this center, connected to the career planning and self-promotion of the LMTA students and alumni.
Practical presentation of using digital skills in self-promotion which vas very important and useful was given by the Nedas Latovinas, member of the LMTA Students Union Board. This presentation was followed by a short introduciton on Music technology and innovation at LMTA by Mantautas Krukauskas and Jurgis Jarašius (MISC). After the Q&A and lunch break afternoon events were appointed on other two LMTA locations.
In the 4th and 5th LMTA buildings (Theatre and film faculty) participants from Serbia could see the facilities and the sound recording and Sound design studios with the special emphasize on recording and editing of a Musicians’ portfolio (Justina Širvelytė and Laura Jurgelionytė)
In the 2nd LMTA building (Music Faculty) Serbian academics had the opportunity to explore the Sound design studio, as well as the editing room with the digital production programmes. The short presentation was offered by the Laura Jurgelionytė, lecturer in sound design, editing and digital programmes.
The final event of the first day of this study visit was the Smart classroom for distant learning with prof. Laimutė Jakavonytė, which offered direct insight into realization of distance learning between Vilnius and Klaipeda.
On the second and third day of the visit (4th and 5th April) a creative workshop Entrepreneurship and creativity training (stage 4) in Druskininkai, “Grand Spa Lietuva” was held. Three participants from Serbia (Ivana Perković, Milena Stanišić and Zoran Komadina) participated in this workshop while other participants stayed in Vilnius at LMTA.
Creative workshop brought the Summary of the stage 3 – Distant training activities and introduction to the stage 4 – Entrepreneurship and creativity training, Cultural and Creative industries (CCI) business: development of the social business idea. Choosing the social business model and developing a strategy, Lecture given by Ugnius Savickas (coordinator of the project: Education of entrepreneurship and creativity of students and teachers through developing business ideas in culture and creative industries in Alytus region). Meetings and extensive discussions of the Serbian representatives with Mr Savickas and Vygintas Gasparavičius (Head of the LMTA Management department) were very usefull.
During this creative workshop (organized by the LMTA and Lithuanian National Association of Creative and Cultural Industries, which member LMTA is) work of six other Lithuanian HEIs was presented, and Serbian teachers had the opportunity to talk with their students and teachers as well and participate in the creative sessions.
In the meantime, in Vilnius, four Serbian teachers (Ljiljana Nestorovska, Dragana Jovanović, Ivana Miladinović-Prica and Milan Milojković) were having the extensive discussion about the equipment necessary for the realization of the project goals (Dragana Jovanović with Mantautas Krukauskas), visiting the Music Information Centre Lithuania (MICL) and exploring the manuscripts and sound archive, presentations of the online database, published scores and CD series (Asta Pakarklytė). Ivana Miladinović Prica and Milan Milojković were having meetings with the LMTA musicology department teachers (Rūta Stanevičiūtė, Audra Versekėnaitė, Rima Povilioniene) covering the vide specter of topics (electronic journals, databases, applied musicology, etc.).
On Friday, April 5th Audra Versekėnaitė, Head of the Music Theory department spoke about the musicology studies at LMTA and Mr. Andrius Juškys, Lecturer of the Arts management department gave the lecture for all participants about the entrepreneurship studies for music managers.
This visit was particularly marked by the exchange of the ideas, getting direct insight and interaction with the LMTA colleagues and students in the domain of the digital competences, teaching processes, equipment, in order to get necessary practical and empirical knowledge which will be necessary in designing new courses and defining learning outcomes and competences at the Serbian MHEIs.
Finalization of this fruitful event in Vilnius was marked by the concert of the LMTA Symphony orchestra with the guest conductor Clark Rundell (UK).
