National academic partners – University of Arts in Belgrade (P1), University of Novi Sad (P2) and University of Kragujevac (P3), have developed or modified, and put to use distance learning platforms based on Moodle, open-source online learning platform.
The first one to reach this outcome was the Faculty of Philology and Arts of the University in Kragujevac, which installed and implemented eUčenje [eLearning] distance learning platform in April 2019. The analysis showed that the platform is suitable for needs of music on-line education, and the institution provides technical help for adaptation of platform to answer more specific use, if needed. All the teachers have the opportunity and are encouraged to offer e-learning courses. The first online course developed within DEMUSIS project – Music in digital environment, with 4 students and 2 teachers involved, was made available at the platform in the Spring semester of 2019/20.
The University of Novi Sad introduced a new distance learning platform eLab, developed between December 2019 and February 2020, which was put to use at the Academy of Arts of the University of Novi Sad in Spring 2020. The inauguration of the eLab e-learning platform was followed by training by IT member of P2 technical support. About 40 teachers attended a group presentation on opening and using eLab Moodle-based distance learning platform, whereas 15 teachers also requested and received individual training and IT support. A new course MEDIG (Music education methods in digital environment) was succesfully implemented as an online course.
The University of Belgrade offered the University of Arts in Belgrade to use eLearning portal, which was assessed as adequate for answering the needs of music teaching and learning. It was therefore put to use in spring semester of 2020, with one modernized course – Concert practice, succesfully implemented as a specific test course, using in full capacity the distance learning platform.
The implementation of subsequent online courses at the three national academic partner institutions on developed e-learning platforms, and the analysis of results, will show the potential need for further adjustments of these platforms. This will be discussed after the fall semester of 2020/21 (in January 2021).
