Teacher training for the entrepreneurial bootcamp for music students in Serbia “Music – here and now” – Spring 2021

The teacher training by the Royal Conservatoire The Hague (P4) for the entrepreneurial bootcamp for music students will be realized on April 19–23 2021, in an online format. It is the final part of project activity 3.1 – Teacher training for curricular changes and LLL courses, following previous online teacher trainings in December 2020 by Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (P6) on 2–21 December and the New Bulgarian University (P5) on 21–22 December 2020.

At least 12 teachers from national higher music education institutions in Belgrade, Novi Sad and Kragujevac (P1–P3) will be trained for the role of coaches in entrepreneurial bootcamp for music students “Music – here and now” to be held in Serbia in May 2021 as part of the project activity 4.3.

Within the 5 days of training, teachers from Serbia and Netherlands will discuss the role of music and professional musicians in society, and challenges of the music profession today, issues of ethics, boundaries, inclusion, sustainability, reciprocity and many others. Furthermore, the focus will be on exploring the various aspects of the entrepreneurial bootcamp for music students – its design and values, connotations, the pedagogical principles behind it, the objectives and learning outcomes of such a specific educational tool, the coaching principles, feedback and assessment and other related issues.

The teacher training will be led by Renee Jonker, Head of the master study program New Audiences and Innovative Practice (NAIP) at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague (The Netherlands) and member of the AEC-SMS Working Group 3: Entrepreneurial mindset for musician. The course is based on principles that were developed in successful AEC Renew Project (2016–2019).

The outline of the teacher training and entrepreneurial bootcamp for music students, their dates and formats, partners’ roles, objectives and outcomes were defined in online partner meetings on March 5th and 24th (P1-P4) and March 9th 2021 (P1-P3).

The call for application for teachers at national higher music education institutions is currently open.
