In first live teaching visit from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague (P4) to national academic partner institutions, Martin Prchal visited the Faculty of Music University of Arts in Belgrade (P1) and the Faculty of Philology and Arts University of Kragujevac (P3) from 29 March to 3 April 2022.
In two sessions on March 30th at the University of Kragujevac he met with students of Music Pedagogy and Music in Media BA study programs and MA Music Performance modernized in the framework of DEMUSIS WP 4.3 by introducing course and topics about music entrepreneurship and career skills into the curriculum.
The following days of his visit were dedicated to meetings with students of all BA, MA and PhD study programs at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in some of the most highly attended visiting lectures at this institution.
In his teaching sessions entitled Entrepreneurship in higher music education: politically correct rhetoric or a bare necessity?, the vice-principal of the Royal Conservatoire explored linking music entrepreneurship and integration of artistic practice and ambitions with professional identities and integration. In open and lively dialogue, he challenged the students further to think, question and explore ideas about career skills and goals, putting their artistic and professional pursuits into broader perspective.
In addition, Martin Prchal’s visit included meetings with teachers and management of both HMEIs discussing and exchanging ideas on curricular development, organization of teaching, on the continuation of collaboration and sustainability of project results.
